From time to time we all get cravings for a sweet snack. However if we happen to give in to the temptation we often feel guilty afterwards and regret it. Well I have a recipe that allows you satisfy your cravings and not feel guilty. I give you my low carb carrot cake dough balls.
They are very easy to make and take only a few minutes to make. In this recipe I added sultanas as I wanted some carbs in the balls, but if you are on a low carb diet simply remove the sultanas and you have the low carb version.
½ cup almond/ cashew butter
½ cup sultanas (optional)
Juice from half a lemon
1 cup of grated carrot
1/3 cup of ground almonds
1 tsp cinnamon
½ scoop vanilla whey protein
Mix the nut butter, sultanas, lemon juice, grated carrot, cinnamon, ground almonds and vanilla protein together until you have a big dough textured ball.
You can add some honey/ stevia if you wish to have the balls slightly sweetener.
Separate the mixture with a spoon and form into balls. From these quantities you will get about 7 balls.
Pop them in the fridge for 45 minutes or freezer for 10 minutes to set.
