Bodymax CF475 Review

Have you ever made some serious gains in strength and been using a piece of kit and wondered if it was going to fall apart? Well recently I have been concentrating on increasing my squat strength and my goal was to hit a 200 kg squat. I’ve had a Bodymax CF375 for the last few years and it has put up with a lot of abuse and I can’t fault it, but I decided to put it into retirement as it is designed to take 180 kg. Although I wouldn’t mind getting £250 from you’ve been framed for a funny video of me smashing a barbell through the floor I thought I would hunt around for an upgrade.

I’m not made of money so I wanted something that wasn’t going to break the bank but would still save my life when things got heavy. I had a look around but in the end I decided to stick with bodymax as I really loved my old power rack but had simply out grown it. The upgrade power rack from my old one is the bodymax CF475.

Just from the look of it you can tell it is a bit of a unit and definitely capable of withstanding any weight that I could throw at it. A brief glance through the spec gave me butterflies seeing the 363kg capacity!

Bodymax cf475 Specification

  • Heavy duty frame – 1300L x 1160W 2100H
  • Adjustable Spotter Bars & Anti Slip Feet
  • 363kg capacity – great for shrugs, squats, chest, shoulder press & more
  • Comes with Narrow and Wide grip chinning bar
  • Add a weight bench for even more versatility

Like the CF375 the bodymax CF475 has pretty much identical features such as the narrow/ wide grip chin up bar which are a vital exercise on my back days. A power rack in any home gym is the best thing since sliced bread and will take your workouts to the next level! I still use my bodymax cf475 for more than just squats and chin ups, I also do shrugs, military press, rack chins, bench press and dips. I use to use two barbells to do dips and put them across the spotting bars, however I decided to stop being so tight and gone and bought the [easyazon_link asin=”B001V8RKV2″ locale=”UK” new_window=”default” nofollow=”default” tag=”willparrettco-21″ add_to_cart=”default” cloaking=”default” localization=”default” popups=”default”]dips attachment[/easyazon_link].

You can also get the lat/ low pulley attachment that you could get on the bodymax CF375. However I haven’t actually bought it as my brother decided to buy a cable crossover machine so I just use that instead. However if you don’t have a cable crossover then I would definitely recommend getting one as it does add an extra dimension to your workout and will help you build a barn door of a back! If you do think you will buy the lat/ low pulley attachment I would recommend buying them together as a bundle as you can get them slightly cheaper.

I am very happy with my bodymax cf475 and I hope to get a number of years out of this power rack and if I can manage to squat more than 363kg capacity then I wouldn’t even be annoyed as I would have set a new world record.
